| Liberty Propane's 16th Acquisition, and First in Maine
OVERLAND PARK, KS -- Liberty Propane has announced its most recent acquisition of Mid State Gas Co. in Pittsfield, Maine, located 40 miles west of Bangor.
The acquisition of Mid State Gas represents an additional 2,200 customers to Liberty’s rapidly growing customer base. This acquisition adds to the core of quality operations Liberty has acquired over the past three years.
“We are extremely pleased to further strengthen our market presence in the Northeast, and continue our growth strategy in a strategically targeted territory. This transaction will be our first operating unit in the State of Maine and opens up new opportunities for added growth,” stated Kent Misemer, Liberty’s CEO.
Liberty Propane has now acquired a total of 16 quality propane companies since its inception in July, 2003. The Mid State acquisition will bring the Overland Park, Kansas based propane retailer to a total of over 84,000 customers at 32 facilities in 10 states, including operations in the Northeast, Northwest, Rocky Mountain Southwest and Southeast.
Liberty Propane is the nation’s 13th largest, and the nation’s youngest, fastest growing retail propane marketer. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
