Mr. Misemer is an experienced and respected propane industry executive with a background that encompasses over 25 years of executive management positions in each segment of the propane industry supply chain; as well as executive positions outside the propane industry.
Mr. Misemer is co-founder and President/CEO of Liberty Propane. Founded in 2003, Liberty Propane has grown to become the 9th largest retail propane marketer in the United States through a concentrated focus on acquisitions in the Northeast, Northwest, Southeast and Rocky Mountain Regions.
In addition to the energy industry, Mr. Misemer has been the owner and Chief Executive Officer of a privately held manufacturer of over-the-counter pharmaceuticals, and a candle manufacturing company.
In 1991, Mr. Misemer co-founded Propane Continental, which, through the successful execution of an acquisition and consolidation strategy, ultimately became the 19th largest retail propane company in the United States. Mr. Misemer was Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Propane Continental.
Prior to his position at Propane Continental, Mr. Misemer held executive and entrepreneurial positions in other propane enterprises. In late1988, he founded Tri-Power Fuels, Inc., a wholesale supply company dedicated to providing product and services to independent propane retailers. Quickly, the Tri-Power customer base grew to include 500 independent retail operators scattered across 35 states. At the inception of Propane Continental, Tri-Power was merged into the Propane Continental entity, providing a base of retail relationships and identity from which to initiate the Propane Continental business plan.
In 1987, Mr. Misemer saw an opportunity offered by the de-control of natural gas. He joined GasTrak Corporation, a newly formed company specializing in the marketing of natural gas. Hired as Marketing Manager, he quickly moved through the ranks to become President where he was responsible for all aspects of marketing and operations. In the two years after joining the company, he opened marketing offices in Houston and Philadelphia, increasing both sales and profits.
Mr. Misemer started his career in the propane industry with a national retail-wholesale propane company. He was hired in 1978 to develop marketing programs for retail propane customers of a meter company. In 1981, he was promoted to the Wholesale LP Gas Division as a Marketing Manager responsible for generating new retail customer accounts. Ultimately, he was promoted to Vice President responsible for management of the division. In that position, he had full income statement responsibility including budgeting, product inventory, sales, and general administration.
Mr. Misemer is a current member of the Governmental Affairs Committee of the National Propane Gas Association.
Mr. Misemer graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Ottawa University.
